Body Kind Schools is Australia’s largest annual positive body image movement for young people. Formerly Love Your Body Week for Schools, Body Kind Schools takes an evidence-informed approach to promoting positive body image and asks young people to find ways to be kind to their own body and to others. Finding ways to like, accept, love or even feel positive about your body can be challenging but we can all try to be a little kinder. Butterfly’s National Helpline Call 1800 ED HOPE (1800 33 4673)

What is Body Kind?

Be body kind to your body and to others. The way you think and feel about your body is influenced by so many things, and the relationship you have with your body is unique, complex, and deeply personal. Feeling positive about your body is not always easy, so while the feelings we have towards our bodies can change, might we still be able to be kind to our bodies?

Being body kind is shown in how we nourish, nurture, and move our bodies. It’s the language we use out loud, online, and in our heads. Can we be kind to all bodies?

Kind to our own body and to others. [Music] Nobody is perfect, but everybody deserves kindness. So, in a world where we can be anything, let’s be body kind. This September, take action and join Butterfly to encourage all Australians to be body kind to our own, to others, online, and face to face.
