Amanda overcoming anxiety
When it got really bad, I could just feel it, you know, in my chest. It’s like it just takes a hold of you, like a giant fist squeezing you. I could feel my heart pounding, my head would get all hot, and my hands were sweaty. The more I panicked, the worse it got. It would just get bigger and bigger until I had absolutely no control.
I’d been going through a really tough time. I was stressing about a lot of things, I guess. I just wasn’t ready to talk to someone about it. I remembered an old teacher of mine talking about ReachOut.com. So, when I got home one day, I decided I’d just, you know, look it up.
ReachOut.com really helped me to understand what I was going through. After reading the fact sheets and stories, it no longer felt like this scary thing. The advice I got was really practical and felt easy to start doing things that could help. Reading about other people’s experiences also really helped. I guess it’s just good to know that you’re not alone.
