How do I see a therapist if I’m on a lower income?

A really great option we have access to in Australia is a mental health care plan. You can go to your GP, and they can prepare that for you. It gives you access to a number of sessions per year.

It might also be useful to look into non-profit organisations that cater to whatever demographic you fall into—whether that’s migrant services, community mental health services, or other local organisations.

Another option is to let your therapist know that you’re struggling financially. They may offer subsidised or bulk-billed sessions as well.

So, there are plenty of options.
