Step 5: Dont give up | 5 steps to talking about bullying

Hey guys, Rahart here, and I’m back with the fifth and final step in how you can talk to somebody about bullying. If you haven’t watched this from the start, go back to the first video and watch them in order.

The final step in how to talk to somebody about bullying is “Don’t give up.” Sometimes, you may have to ask for help more than once, and that’s okay. If you feel like the person you’re talking to doesn’t understand you, or that talking about it hasn’t helped or stopped the bullying, then maybe you should choose somebody else to talk to, until you feel that you’ve been heard and taken seriously.

Just so that you’re not expecting a quick fix, it’s good to remember that stopping someone from bullying you may take time. Even though bullying might not stop immediately, that doesn’t mean that you should stop trying. The fact is that you don’t have to do this by yourself, and it’ll be a lot easier to deal with if you have someone to support you.

Remember, here at ReachOut, we work really closely with mental health experts, and they all recommend that talking to somebody about your bullying experience is the most important and biggest step that you can take.
