WEBSITEThere are bills to pay. The world isn’t free. The first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to adulting is stress, responsibilities, and being broke all the time.
My version of adulting looks like someone struggling at red water. It can be a pretty flailing experience at the stop.
Given when you’re a kid and you just want to be an adult, and then you get to being an adult, and it’s like, “Wow, so much work.” I kind of wish I was just back in school.
Yeah, it’s so much responsibility. You have to figure out how to do your taxes and buy your first car and get car insurance.
I had a lot of friends over in the concerts. They’d go into the clubs. Yeah, they’d hit me up all the time, “Hey Becky, come out!” And I had to make that decision: Do I want to eat this week or be able to pay my bills, or do I want to go out and just enjoy myself for a few hours?
Adulting is literally just change. I think the fear of change is becoming less daunting, just because I now understand that more changes are going to keep coming.
There’s always going to be somebody who’s wiser and who’s done it before and has tips and life advice for you about whatever it is that you’re facing.
I think the most important thing I’ve learned about adulting is that there’s no right way to do it. As long as you’re keeping your head above water, you’re right.
