LGBTIQA+ you are not alone

I always felt like I was a little bit of an oddball in my regional space, and I wasn’t like anyone else around me. I really had to step into the fact that, no matter what people are saying, I wanted to live as myself. The world won’t end if you cut your hair and wear boys’ clothes, and people will get over it. So you should focus on what makes you happy and what makes you comfortable.

I try not to let fear dictate my life because I have for so long. Facing fears is the most liberating experience, and I do it on a daily basis. It’s so important because it empowers you to push through ceilings and get to where you want to be—and it’s so awesome.

For somebody in the LGBTQIA+ community going through a tough time, I guess, first and foremost, I’d say there’s nothing wrong with who you are. If you’re looking for support, even though it might feel like you’re very alone, I can guarantee there are people going through the same thing or similar things.

It’s really important to reach out for help if you need it. You can find support in all kinds of places, and it’s really important to make those connections—whether that’s online or reaching out to friends or family, if you know it’s safe to.

Don’t try to go through it alone. Find somebody you can reach out to and have a chat. You’ve still got people who love you, and you’ve still got people who care about you, no matter how you choose to live your life.

It’s okay to feel how you’re feeling. You will get to a space where you feel like your true self.

You.
