Bushfires Support
I think one of the things that Headspace is trying to do in regards to future crises, fire seasons, or whatever, is really just helping people to know how to get connected to us, to know that we’re here, and then to continue to have a presence in the communities. My job is about making people aware that, yes, it is super tough, and so if you’re not sleeping right or if you’re not remembering things, that’s totally normal for the context within which you’re operating.
It’s really about making that okay for people to say, and then encouraging them to access support if they need to.
What gives me hope is that we all care about each other. Every single person that works here genuinely cares about this community and the young people and their families. We’re part of this community, and I think that’s the hopeful thing—that we will all get through it together.
